Sattlerhof

Sattlerhof

Sattlerhof is situated south of Gamlitz on a steep hill with fabulous views of the Southern Styrian landscape. This village is called Sernau, and Sattlerhof is house number 2, which would suggest that this is a centuries-old address. Documents show that the farm has been in the family since 1887. Today Sattlerhof is devoted totally to the culture of pleasure, with wine playing a central role in this regard.

Willi Sattler has been responsible for the cultivation of wine here since he was 22 years old. Thanks to his skill, Sattlerhof wines have over the decades earned the respect of innumerable wine-lovers and the international wine media.

The combination of tradition and innovation plays a uniquely important role in quality at Sattlerhof. Tradition means a natural and intensive management of the vineyards, while incorporating the vintner’s vast knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of the terroir and the vines, which comes only from decades of close involvement with his wine-growing estate.

Innovation means constantly developing new wine-processing methods, investing in cellar technology and consistently implementing ideas that bring out the varietal character even better and accentuate those qualities of the wine that are typical of the region.
