With 14,5% alcohol, this is a massive, full bodied and intense wine. Ruby with purple rim, it offers loads of forward fruit, comprisng cherry jam and berries, framed by subtle spicy notes. The tannins are soft and well structured; there are notes of vanilla and cocoa on the finish. Aged in French and American barriques for 12 months.
The grape material is sourced from a strip of ancient vineyards in Sava. The vineyards are aged between 70 and 100 years old and bear very little, yet intense fruit.
The land around Sava is flat and fertile and extends towards the beaches of the Ionian coast. It is here that Primitivo reaches its full potential reflecting richness and complexity, with great structure, minerality and body.
