Good deep red. Crushed blackberry, plum and spicecake on the nose. Rich, dense and chewy, with good cedary lift to the dark chocolate and graphite flavours. An accessible merlot-driven blend in a New Wave style but with solid structure and a nicely restrained sweetness. Finishes firm and long.

The planning for this wine centred around producing another top quality red blend from De Toren, yet different in style to Fusion V. Clever planting of block “Z” allows cooling summer breezes passing up the vineyard rows and giving a new meaning to air-conditioning the vines.

This cooling effect results in a longer ripening period and together with the higher clay content in the soil has created a unique site specific wine.

Attesting to the quality of their wines, De Toren has been chosen to supply the proprietary wine for the world’s greatest hotel: The Burj Al Arab Jumeira in Dubai!
