Close to 40 year-old vines of the single-vineyard “Holzspur” supply the fruit for this Grande Reserve Pinot Noir from the plains of Tattendorf in the Thermenregion. It hits both the seductive, lush and emotional side of Pinot, as well as the more savory, meaty side. There is good floral boysenberry fruit with ripe pomegranate paired with complex “Holzspur”-minerality, giving the wine a subtle chewy texture. Aging in small oak barrels (80% new) for 18 months adds elegance and finesse and prepares this wine for a long life of at least 8 -10 years.
