Riesling Zoebinger Heiligenstein 1 OTW Magnum

A nose full of grace and style, very refined aromas of white peaches,apricots, citrus fruit and subtle minerality; both light-footed and rich; delicate and at the same time complex with impressive depth of fruit.
Whole cluster pressing, fermentation: 50% in big, old oakbarrels, 50% in stainless steel tanks, using indigenous yeasts only; the young wine then rests on the fine lees till mid April.
The Rieslings from the famous Zöbinger Heiligenstein vineyard almost always display a very distinctive minerality originating from the unique geology consisting of volcanic rock and desert sandstone. The wines from this remarkable site usually need some bottle age to open up. When mature, they show impressive structure and very distinctive aromatics reminiscent of white, often exotic fruit and strong minerality. The ageability of the Heiligenstein Rieslings is legendary.
